Introduction¶

Manabot is a Discord utility bot for MMO (like) games, with the focus on ease of use and convenience. Personally I believe it is much easier and better to have visual guidance and show the steps instead of entering it with a command line like method. With Manabot all you have to do is a single /command without options and you will be represented with the options visually through buttons, modals and select boxes.

While the focus being on ease of access I want to bring the attention to features for MMO (Like) video games and communities. With MMO (like) video games I’m talking about games like Final Fantasy XIV, War Thunder as two prime video game examples on what the bot supports. Likely more video games and themes will be added towards the bot as it expands functionality over time.

You can follow the progression on our Discord server which will contain frequent updates and feature showcases about upcoming features.

Receiving support¶

Receiving help or support it is highly encouraged to join the Manabot Discord server, over here you can receive support for the hosted version of the bot. Reporting bugs should be done through our Discord server as well and it will be tackled as soon as I can get the time for it. This Discord bot is a passion project with no commercial intentions, and will be provided as it is.

Self Hosting¶

Hosting the bot will not be possible for now, because I simply do not have the capacity in-order to cover support for self hosting. From personal experiences in the past where I've spent more time on helping people setting up their software than focusing on general improvement of this Discord bot.

Because of that the bot its source code won't be available unless more capacity becomes available. To me it is important that the project remains in a healthy position and features are ironed out and everyone has a great experience with the bot.

Supporting the Project¶

Supporting the project can be done through Ko-fi with a single time donation or recurring depending on your wishes. Through donating you are helping me to offset operation costs of Manabot, which enables me to focus on new features.

When donating you will not receive any extra perks or benefits aside from a special Discord role on the Manabot support server. Join in and have a chat and check out the feature showcase of Manabot itself and convince yourself on using it yourself!

License¶

Manabot uses the AGPL-3.0 license for its own project files. The bot uses SaphireJS as a framework to function, which is dedicated to the public domain via the Unlicense, courtesy of the Sapphire Community and its contributors.
